I agree with Doug, they shouldnt have unlimited home runs in "E", Im embarrassed how this medford tourney was ran, the guy running the umpires was a
joke, He said that if you foul the 1st pitch off then the next one had to be fair, so you didnt have a foul to waste, Hello its usssa, so learn the f*******
rules already... All in all the tourney was fun, but we need jeff and mark to bring his crews down here for tourney, cause the jack asses trying to run usssa
in Medford suck.... Im out peace

Yeah, but unlimited HR's doesn't mean so much when the ball turns to garbage once it gets warm out….

one team in there first game hit 10 homeruns. that means something i would think. and your correct once it got hot they didnt fly that much. thats why i think
1 or 2 hr would of been fine.

Yeah I herd the same thing, Those balls were night and day different from 8 am to 2 pm.
To me 2 HRs then progressive seem to work perfect. |

Why is everyone so against giving 1 or 2 HRs for 'E' ball? I understand the USSSA rules are offensive ejection for a HR in 'E'. But if the
tournament is just a qualifier, and a majority of the players don't like the offensive ejection rule, what is it going to hurt? Just do 1 HR then
progressive, if your team doesn't want the other team to hit HRs then don't hit any yourself. You're not going to lose because the other team hits
1 HR.

If a team can hit a home run (not by a guided 20mph tail wind) on a daily game basis, AND they wish to play competitively, then they belong a step higher to
progress.
I just think it's comical to even have an "E+, E-". I wish those that decide softball's GPA system would have been some of my teachers back in the day. Guaranteed Honor Roll!! It is what it is |

If a true 'E' team should not be able to hit the ball out of the park then 90% of 'E' teams in Oregon are in the wrong division. How many teams
do you know of that doesn't have 1 player that can hit the ball over the fence. I understand we need to play by the rules USSSA has set up but I think the
USSSA rules are screwed up to begin with. How can they take away park of the game like the HR, I know they want to keep it fair but getting ejected from the
game and being penalized for making a quality swing that goes over the fence is ridicules.

"being penalized for making a quality swing that goes over the fence is ridicules."
If one makes a quality swing on a consistant basis, they should not be playing in the Learner's League. I'm definitely not saying the organizations are consistant with the classification issues. There are many factors that dwarf the minds of the powers that be when it comes to this. One would think is as simple of having player classifications across the board for those who wish to play competitively, however, I may be missing some factor or logical explanation as to why it is so hard to do it. With that, a team that plays E-ball and wishes to have home runs in their division is defeating the purpose as the difference in classifications. My personal belief would be slated: E/Rec: Learner's League. No homeruns. First is DBO w/warning. Second is a run for the opposing team. 3rd is 2 runs for the opposing team, etc. D: 1 + progressive rule. C: 3 + progressive rule. B: 5 + progressive rule. Above B: T.D.'s choice on how many they want to retrieve. I understand the other half of wanting to play with friends, blah blah blah. But if you are planning on playing competitively (meaning, you have plans for post-season somewhere), then play in the respective divisions that is best suited/most competitive (locally) for you. And a footnote 24, some of those "quality swings" are now being used with "enhanced" bats...........in E ball!!!!!!! Funny stuff right there. It is what it is

Let's not get into "enhanced" bats, because that another subject that is not going away and will probably only get worse. Don't need to open
up that can of worms here, because I can't stand people who cheat.
Hey I would be all for your system if teams and players would actually follow the classification system, the problem is that players that should be playing 'E'/ "learners league" are not committed enough to play in tournaments, I would not classify any of the teams that regularly play in tournaments down here in Medford as "learners league" teams. There are a limited number of teams of all skill levels that play down here so if the teams were truly separated into correct divisions there would not be enough teams to have separate tournaments for each division. |

I played in three games saturday on field 1 and there was 0 hrs hit by any of the teams on that field-the extra 15' must of made a big difference. The
balls sucked about the middle of the first game and just got worse as the day went on. What I thought sucked was we were 1-1 going into our third game and got
sent home by a team that was already 0-2 on the day-I don't think that kind of bracket makes much sense.

As long as USSSA stays with the classic 'M' ball which is a .40 COR, 325 lb Comp, your going to continue to see the same thing whenever it get warm
out.
It's to bad USSSA cant see that their killing the game by switching to this new ball. |

If you think U-Trip is killing their game then check out State, regional and nationals team participation. I think you will find they are doing just fine.

Freedom of choice bottom line. If you don't like the rules don't play the game/tournament.
I played two tourneys in the last month: Usssa D: Unlimited Home Runs 60 minute time limit with pillows. Morning there were home runs and on the launching pads there were homeruns. NSA D: 2 Home Runs with a 55 minute time limit, 1 and 1 count no foul in 110 degree weather with socks. Saw maybe 5 home runs the hole day while the sun was out. |

I totally agree with you Irishmob, if you don't like the format then don't play, simple as that. Its nice to have different formats every once and a
while. Most people just want to get out and have fun, and every tournament does not have to follow every single rule in the book.
I know there is a lot more to the game than hitting HR's but it should still be part of the game.... your never going to make everyone happy, half the guys will @%%$@ about not enough HR's while the other half @%%$@ about too many HR's. That's why its nice to have a little variety in the tournaments around here. |

It's not too often I get on here anymore but after seeing the incoherent babble going on I had to say something. The comment made previously about the E+
and E- classifications was perfect. E in all essence is the same as Rec no matter what association you are playing. Now as to the real scenario, HR's in
E or Rec. The most ignorant comment made by anyone is that if you hit a ball you should be ejected from the game. ASA, USSSA, NSA, WSA and any other stinkin
association out there need to realize that every time they add a rediculous rule like this they are changing the game from what it should be. It's the
same thing with the whole 1 & 1 count in ASA and NSA (I don't know if any other associations are using it too). I understand speeding a game up, but
with this rule you've litterally changed the game from what softball is.......baseball with a bigger ball!!!!! I don't recall ever seeing Greg Maddux
or Cole Hammels get a 1 & 1 count to start against Sammy Sosa because he's using a corked bat. The powers that be need to quit butting in and leave
the game alone. Sorry I went off on a little tangent there. The point I was trying to make is if you want no HR's you don't kick the guy or girl out.
Novel concept....DBO. Heck if you even want to make it harsher go DBO then plus or minus system in runs. No player should ever be punished for going yard
the same way someone is that goes off on an ump. What's being said is that "I'm sorry, you hit a jack, great job. But get the F*&% off my
field" If that's the case, I'm gonna throw my bat or cuss out the ump to make it worth actually being kicked out of a game.
