Unfortunately, the TD's aren't going to do this on their own. Their ultimate goal is to bring in money every weekend but they forget that maybe if they don't flood the schedule with meaningless tourneys that they might just make more money with half the tourneys and 2x or 3x as many teams. Funny how every weekend 5 different parks get 5 teams to play in their tournament but if they communicated to take turns every 4 weeks then they might actually make more money when you subtract the soft costs that it takes to run these parks IE umps, staff, lights and any materials that are needed.

It's going to take a collaboration of the teams that play tournaments a lot. Kind of like a players association which is what spurred the idea of the NWSPA (Northwest Softball Players Association). A representative from each team could meet in the winter to set up a schedule prior to the season starting and then in turn tell the TD's what the deal is. Otherwise the TD's will continue to disregard the players wishes. It's a stretch but I think Harbo is right on line with the XPC. He's building a circuit that the teams can follow in order to get to a few of the postseason tourneys in different associations and make a little travelling cash.

Everyone reverts back 10-15 years about how tournaments were getting so many teams but I believe that there wasn't as many to choose from every weekend. So maybe it isn't that the tournaments aren't getting the teams but maybe that the parks are so greedy these days that there's just too many places to play. Another idea is to restructure the ability to get the postseason berths. Maybe implement a single state tournament that involves all 3 associations and gives the teams the chance to choose which berths they want and giving out regional berths to teams that don't place high enough to get a direct berth to nationals. I'm not sure how you choose what rules you play by but maybe it's something that the teams vote on when they enter the tournament.
