The thing that attracts more teams to tournaments is equal ness in each division. With USSSA keeping track of rosters you get less sandbagging and mixing of teams that just change names and switch players from team to team to play different classifications in order to fit the tournament. Maybe if the Portland/Vancouver area thought about using USSSA it would make the tournaments more popular to go and play since teams are keeping track of players not just team names. The only reason Associations ever had to start keeping track like this is because some where along the line some teams just could not stop sand bagging and they had to enforce new rules. If the game was played fair and honest and every team played where they should be according to there performance there would never be a need to establish such rules. But more and more sandbagging happens each year forcing teams to not want to play tournaments!! So maybe the solution is to impliment Roster rules so people can not play down or make up fake names. Expel them if they get caught doing it or just make everything USSSA??? Who knows. Softball seems like it use to be alot more fun when you compete against your same level. I think this may be one of the only ways to implement more fun and attraction back to tournaments?? We all know there is alot more teams out there compared to what end up showing up for tournament and it would be nice to see new faces!
