The problem to me seems to be that associations are holding competing tournaments on the same weekends which is diluting the talent in each association. We
chose to play the XPC this year because it seems to be a good deal. Now we have an XPC @ Delta this weekend and USSSA has an I-5 money series in Salem at the
same time. Next weekend is the same with Hillsboro and Delta. It just seems that if these tournament offset then teams could play both associations
tournaments. You are always going to have the teams that like Prairie, Newburg, Tualatin etc... but now the tournament teams that like to travel are having to
choose which tournament to go too and it dilutes the talent. Its like a crapshoot. I think that if there was one major tournament a weekend then you would
start seeing more competetive brackets with people supporting each division. I know that the parks want to have tournaments every weekend to make money but
how much money are you making with 6-10 team tournaments. What is Washington USSSA doing to get 24-30 teams on any given weekend? It would be fun to have
actual top 10 lists knowing how teams did head to head.

Mainstreet is in also at Prairie/AKA Master Batters C/D infield except first base D,E player. Super dave Pitching Rooke, Baba on third Jr on one. Sounds like a E team to me.... Doesn't Vancouver USA, Met Fab, Sand baggers and Mainstreet play on the same night at Prairie??? Sounds like Thursday must be pretty diverse in classification. I take it Thursdays is an open classification?? Must be up to the tournament director to decide. Seasons is still early we will see who actually steps up and makes a fair decision where teams should play not according to money/teams needed per tournament. I just think it sucks that the other fields are getting shorted because teams are allowed to sand bag and pay less fees closer to home. Sand Baggers are playing at Delta now why would the other Thursday Prairie teams not be classified the same?? None of my business I quess who really cares in the end. WE are all going to have fun and drink some beer and play ball somewhere.. Just curious on how that all worked out??

WA USSSA has the same problem.... | #20 | ||
nudledncing wrote: I see you think that WA U trip is running things better....You are being deceived. They have the same issue....If you check the torney guide on the U trip web site, you will see that on any given weekend there are 4 to 5 different tourneys. It is ridiculous, and probably ruining softball. I wish TD and parks would work better together, but they don't. It is all about the bottom dollar, not about making the game better. |
