Here are the details for the SSUA (Salem Softball Umpires Association) Invite:
April 19-20 Wallace Marine Park in Salem 3GG for $150 We have Men's 'D' (1 HR), 'E' (DBO), Mens teams signed up are: Sat. & Sun. D (1 HR) 1.Garmin--Salem 2.Agriseed--Salem 3.Alibi--Salem 4.Portland Warriors--Portland 5.Salem Concrete--Salem 6.The Unit--Albany 7.Oregon Merchants--Salem 8.JF2--Albany 9.The Disciples--Salem 10.Buffalo Wild Wings--Portland 11.Taylors Carpet--Salem 12.University Fencing--Albany 13.Lucky Beavers--Portland 14.Black Diamond--Milwaukie 15.Underdogs--Salem 16.Boss Hogs Outlaws--Salem Sunday Only (DBO) 1.Paulus Guns--Salem 2.Fuetsan Marianas--Salem Deadline to enter is almost here. We plan on playing through the cold and perhaps some rain too. This is our last $150 weekend at Wallace for the season. We bring in a lot of umpires to work on their game and take care of their registrations, uniforms, rules, mechanics, etc...so it's a great weekend for everybody to knock off the last bit of off season rust. The Rainout number is the same as the City of Salem Wallace Marine Park number (503) 362-1396. Saturday start times are listed below for the 2nd annual SSUA Invite at Wallace Marine Park in Salem. Before you leave, double check the Wallace Marine Park
field conditions (503) 362-1396. It is supposed to be cold, with some scattered showers this weekend.
Men's 'E' (DBO) 9AM Start 1.Garmin--Salem 2.Agriseed--Salem 3.The Trenchers--Salem 4.Portland Warriors--Portland 5.The Disciples--Salem 6.Taylors Carpet--Salem 7.Underdogs--Salem 8.Boss Hogs Outlaws--Salem Men's 'D' (1 HR) 10:15 1.Salem Concrete--Salem 2.The Unit--Albany 3.Oregon Merchants--Salem 4.JF2--Albany 5.Buffalo Wild Wings--Portland 6.University Fencing--Albany 7.Lucky Beavers--Portland 8.Black Diamond--Milwaukie Long Sleeve Champions Shirts for both divisions. 10 All-Tournament Short Sleeve per division. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place also get a pizza feed at Wallery's Pizza in West Salem (about 1.5 miles from the ballfields) after the Championship games. Northern Lights Theatre Pub has again kicked in a bunch of free movie passes for us to pass out. Make sure if you pick some up you use them so we can get more. It's a great place to go for a for a movie, food, and even beer/wine (after 5pm). Good luck to all the teams this weekend! Rich

My hope is that any lightning we get hits the lights instead of the bat I'm holding. As for the rain, I think that anyone playing in Oregon had better be
used to it by now. As long as I'm on the field and not sitting at home on the weekend...it's always fun.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature ended up ruling the weekend, but did not shut us out. 12 of the 14 teams got one game in, but once it started snowing, we got the
hint. Thanks to all the teams that came out to play. We will try to reschedule this tournament, but no promises yet.
